5 Reasons You Should Book Your Senior Portrait Session in July

Your junior year is in the books and school is OUT for the summer. So this is it…SENIOR year! The most exciting year of your entire educational career.

There are so many things that you will need to organize for your senior year. Senior trip…grad bash…high school transcripts…scholarship applications. COLLEGE APPLICATIONS! With all of these things to get figured out, let me tell you why you should plan to have your senior portraits completed in July

1. Your Yearbook Staff Will Love You

If you book your senior portrait session in July, you will have no trouble receiving your completed portraits before school starts back, and well before most yearbook deadlines. Beat the rush, and get yours in early! Save yourself the hassle of email reminders from yearbook advisors and staff.

2. Longer Days – Later Sunsets

July boasts the longest days of the year, and the sun sets later in this month than in any other. This means you can book your senior session for later in the day and still get that amazing golden hour light for outdoor portraits. July is my favorite month of the year for senior portraits for just this reason.

3. The School Year is BUSY!

Once school starts, you’re going to hit the ground running. You’re going to have homework and projects and practices and games. Trust me when I tell you that you will struggle to fit in a senior portrait session after the school year starts. Let me help you make your life easier. Book in July.

4. Summer is More Relaxed

Honestly, seniors who book in the summer are just a lot more relaxed during their sessions than those who wait until after school starts. Make it a part of your summer vacation. You’ll enjoy it more, and as a result you will have more beautiful portraits. The more relaxed you are coming in to your session, the more fun it will be, and the better your images will end up as a result. So book your senior portrait session in July and relax, my friend!

5. Save some Moolah!

I offer a discount every year to seniors who book before September 15^th, so you can save a little money by getting your session in before then. But once August hits, my available session dates reduce (hello, football season!) and the number of seniors who didn’t book in the summer is significantly greater. It’s really hard to snag a September session, and the price of sessions is going to go up. Book early, my friend!
