Graduation is an exciting and rewarding time, but it can also be daunting as students begin to navigate their next steps. We love those seniors, and we want to help them on the way to their next chapter and show them some love. Knowing what to gift a graduating senior can be a tricky thought process. So here are my suggestions for eight meaningful gifts for high school graduates that they are sure to love and remember.
8 Meaningful Gifts for High School Graduates
- A personalized college care package. Graduates attending college in the fall will appreciate a care package filled with snacks, school gear, and thoughtful products. Check out my Pinterest Board full of care package ideas!
- A quality watch. A classic timepiece is a practical and stylish gift that graduates can keep with them for years to come.
- A personalized planner. With college, careers, and personal goals to manage, a planner can be a helpful tool for graduates to stay organized. Personalizing the planner with their name or a thoughtful quote can make it feel extra special.
- A book on personal finance. As young adults begin to take on more financial responsibility, a book on personal finance can be an invaluable resource. Consider titles like “The Simple Path to Wealth” or “The Total Money Makeover” as potential gifts.
- A sentimental keepsake. Graduation is a time to celebrate memories and milestones. A sentimental gift like a custom photo album or engraved picture frame can be a sweet gift for graduates. I am happy to help you choose a special photo memory to gift!
- A quality backpack or messenger bag. Graduates heading off to college will appreciate a good bag to haul around campus.
- An experience! An experience gift like a concert ticket, cooking class, or weekend getaway can be a memorable way to celebrate. It can also encourage them to explore new interests.
My Favorite Gift for Graduates
These are some great ideas. But my favorite gift for graduates is the gift card wallet. I like to keep a stack of wallet-sized photo albums around, ready for graduation giving. I include a few small-dollar gift cards for fast-food or coffee places (for a break from the cafeteria). You could also include Amazon or Wal-Mart cards. The best part? Graduates often receive loads of gift cards, and the wallet is a helpful way to keep them handy.
Above all, the most important thing to remember is to choose something thoughtful and meaningful for the graduate! I have been so privileged to capture the joy and excitement of so many seniors. This is such a transformative time in their lives. Choosing a gift that reflects their individual personality, interests, and goals, helps celebrate this milestone in a meaningful way.
