Johnny is one of my favorite seniors. Ever. He’s just so much fun to be around. Homecoming King. Class President. All around nice guy.
But y’all, I LOVE Johnny’s mom. Keep reading for one of the sweetest senior stories…
We started Johnny’s senior portrait session right after football practice on the field where he played. Check out Part 1 of his session for more senior story goodness.
Johnny’s mom came along, too, and she was a trooper! She held the light, made him laugh and just generally was a whole lot of fun.
JCS Football Field to Juno Beach Pier
We headed from the football field to the beach (cause South Florida Seniors are lucky to live so close to the ocean, and it makes sense to take advantage of a vista like that). Juno Beach is a totally gorgeous place to capture a senior story.
Sun, sand and surf make for spectacular images. The spot beneath the pier offers a visually interesting location that’s just a little bit different from straight-up ocean and sand.
So there were were – laughing and posing and talking. Johnny was rocking his portraits, and while I snapped away his mom and I talked about how Johnny is her last one in high school.
It hits me, too – the feels. My youngest daughter is in Johnny’s class, so his mom and I are both getting ready to watch the last of our children head off to college. So right in the middle of posing and laughing and capturing amazing portraits, his mom just lowered the light and got all choked up.
Johnny was smiling at the camera, but he heard his mom sob softly, and noticed her out of the corner of his eye. His smile dimmed and then he just bolted. He dropped his pose, made it to his mom in two steps, gathered her up in a great big hug and said, “It’s going to be ok, Mom.”
Heart. Melts. This is one of my favorite story sessions ever.
Here are three things Johnny’s session illustrates:
- The session itself will be an amazing memory you will treasure forever. So don’t miss it.
- Your session is so much more than location + outfit. It’s about YOU!
- Mom, you should come too. And if the occasion arises, you should get in the photo. You will be so glad to have that image of you with your senior just as he’s getting ready to fly.
Johnny’s senior session was unique and personable and such a special family memory. I am honored to have been a part of capturing it.
