Scheduling portraits right before your prom or spring formal event is a great idea! I loved hanging out with this group of juniors and seniors from Jupiter Christian School. We shot candid photos and posed images right before they headed off for their 2021 prom. We met at Lighthouse Park for some individual and group portraits, and a whole lot of fun! I can’t wait to share these Jupiter Pre-Prom portraits with all of you!
Why Pre-Prom Portraits?
Your school will likely offer a portrait package at the event itself – so why do I encourage pre-prom portraits? First (and most importantly) is because they are so much fun!
Secondly, your event portraits will typically be shot against a standard backdrop. Every attendee will be in the same pose in the same spot. So a pre-event portrait session in a location that you choose specifically (like, say, an iconic lighthouse, or your gorgeous backyard) is a great way to show off that beautiful dress.
It also lets you choose the lighting and style of your own event photos… #awesome!
Finally, a pre-event portrait session allows you to include family members (like mom and dad). They won’t be at your event, so this is a great time to include them in the photo memories of your special day. You can even add your precious puppy, if that’s your thing!
Professional pre-event photos take the pressure off mom to capture those images and lets you all just enjoy the moment.
Jupiter Pre-Prom Portraits
I met the JCS crowd at the Lighthouse Park an hour or so before their event. So much fun! Their stretch Hummer rolled up just as we were finishing. Trying to get a huge group shot before they headed off into the evening was hilarious.
