Marching to Your Own Beat
Kaylani literally marches to the beat of her own drum. She was an integral part of her school’s marching band, and we were excited to showcase this as a part of her unique senior story portrait session.
Kaylani is an absolutely gorgeous young lady – she laughs with her entire self. Her smile is as wide and as bright as the sun. She and her friends are a total squad. For reals – when they see each other, they all yell out: “SQUAD!” and dissolve into giggles.
When Kaylani’s family asked me to help capture her senior portrait images, I was beyond excited. I loved the idea of showcasing her drum corps interest, but when she brought out her second outfits, I couldn’t believe how beautiful she was.
Riverbend Park
We spent some time at Riverbend Park in Jupiter, Florida, and the wildness of the Florida natural outdoors made a perfect backdrop for Kaylani’s exotic features. And also, we had a hilarious time because I cannot contain laughter when I’m around this girl. She is so much fun to hang out with.
Sometimes a senior isn’t totally jazzed about having portraits made. Sometimes a young person is camera shy or not at all interested in the idea of dressing up. Sometimes a teenager feels awkward and uncomfortable about being the center of attention.
But this senior session was fun and goofy and silly and entertaining from start to finish. We had so much fun capturing Kaylani’s images, and planning the telling of her senior story.
