Family portraits during senior year are vital!

I really feel that capturing family portraits during or shortly after your senior year is so important. Let me give you three reasons why:

  1. You’re already in the memory-capturing mindset during senior year. It’s both an ending and a beginning, so you’re focused on making sure those special moments are recorded.
  2. You’re almost totally grown up. You look more like what you’re going to grow into being now than you ever have before, so a family portrait captured during the spring or summer of your senior year will maintain its timeliness for many years to come.
  3. You’re getting ready to head off to college! Grab that family portrait while you’re all still together!

Moments Are Memories if You Capture Them

The truth is – senior year is one big make-a-memory moment after another. From painting her senior parking spot to his football senior recognition night…you are going to want to capture those moments.

Family Moments

The Shaddix family is one of those families that totally embraced this concept. This is a family with a long-standing tradition of sending their children to a private Christian school. In fact, for over twenty years, at least one of their children was there every school year. What an amazing testament to loyalty and heritage!

Mom and Dad were always on campus, too. Mom taught in the elementary school, and Dad captured stats for a variety of sports teams over the years.

When the last two graduated, they knew they wanted a family portrait session to commemorate those years of school memories. So we all met at campus one afternoon, the most recent graduates in caps and gowns, and created some amazing memories!

Graduation Memories

Gathering the whole family at the same time is always a tricky task, and we actually had to reschedule at least once, but we’re nothing if not flexible. And the end result of these amazing memories is one of my favorite senior stories ever. I love how everyone coordinated their outfits to showcase the twins’ caps and gowns.
